PLATTSBURGH — Mr. Alfred R. "Dick" Lafountain, 78, of the Fox Farm Road, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on March 2, 1928, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth (Bouvier) Lafountain.
Dick retired from Imperial Wall Paper Mill after 28 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending Mass at Our Lady of Victory Church, where he was a member.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Lafountain; two brothers, Donald and Joseph Lafountain; two sisters, Marion LaCasse and Florence Terry.
He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Snyder of Colonie, N.Y., Priscilla "Tina" Marbut and her husband, Ralph, of Peasleeville, Rose Baker and her husband, Robert, of Plattsburgh; a sister-in-law, Grace Lafountain of Plattsburgh; several nieces, nephews; grandnieces and nephews also survive him.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church.
Interment will be at a later date in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery.
