ERIE, Pa. — Willard H. Cashman, 92, formerly of Park Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at his home in Erie, Pa.
He was born in Ellenburg Center on Dec. 31, 1914, the son of Henry C. and Margaret (Cooper) Cashman.
Willard graduated from Ellenburg High School.
He married Margaret Miller on June 27, 1938, in the Presbyterian Manse on Brinkerhoff by the Rev. Armstrong. Margaret passed away on May 29, 2005.
Mr. Cashman was an elder and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church and a life member of the American Legion, Post 20.
He enjoyed baseball, reading, playing golf and bowling and was league secretary for many years. He also worked as a volunteer, doing income tax for seniors.
He was in the Army Air Force, working as a airplane mechanic from February 1943 to February 1946.
Willard retired from Diamond International in 1980 after 32 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Bruce and his wife Nancy of Erie, Pa., and their four children, Marcie, Thomas, Amy and Bradley; one niece and two nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007, from 10 a.m. to noon at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, with a funeral service to follow at noon in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
