CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Andrew Stafford Miller, 53, of Mohawk Trail, died on Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Andrew was born Aug. 11, 1953, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the son of the late Ralph Ward and Katherine Anna (Stafford) Miller.
Andrew was a graduate of the American University and Hartwick College, where he received a master's degree in government administration.
He was employed as an administrative assistant for the NYS Thruway Authority in Albany for over 25 years.
Andrew was a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church; he was a lay worship leader at the church. Former chair of the Worship Committee, disciple of Bible study graduate, he was on the Staff-Parish Relations Committee and was very involved with the Emmanus Community. Andrew was a member of the Plattsburgh F&AM. He was well known and loved for his great sense of humor; he truly enjoyed the history of the Erie Canal and was an avid collector of canal memorabilia. He loved golfing and was an avid fan of the late Gump Worsley, a goalie in the NHL.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Theresa LaPointe-Miller, whom he married on Oct. 9, 1999; a loving daughter, Lizzie LaPointe; his loving father and mother-in-law, William and Dorothy Horst of Hobart, Ind.; a sister-in-law and niece, Missy Andric and Lexie Andric, both of Tallahassee, Fla.; one uncle; several aunts; and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
