HIGHLAND BEACH, Fla. - George A. Lynch Jr., 86, of Highland Beach, Fla., formerly of Kutztown, Pa., and North Plainfield, N.J., died on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007.
Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of George A. and Helen (Buckley) Lynch, both deceased. He was married to the former Patricia Dymes in 1954.
Mr. Lynch was a graduate of Mount Assumption Institute, Plattsburgh and attended Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Lynch served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Air Corps. As a captain, he was a pilot with the Fifth Air Force, 22nd Bomb Group, flying in New Guinea, the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan.
He was an agency manager for Mutual of New York Life Insurance Co. in New Jersey for many years, retiring in 1983.
An avid golfer, he was a former member of Plainfield Country Club in New Jersey and Moselem Country Club in Pennsylvania. He was a former member of the Plainfield Rotary Club, Plattsburgh Rotary Club and Plattsburgh Elks Club, Lodge 621. He enjoyed traveling and taking family vacations in Avalon, N.J.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters and their husbands, Sharon and James Jarema of Marlton, N.J., Nancy and Andrew Olesin of Princeton, Mass. and Kathleen and James Sisto of Bernardville, N.J.; a sister, Catherine L. Zabriskie of Ogdensburg, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, Army Spc. Jason Jarema of Fort Campbell, Ky., Jordan and Jill Jarema of Marlton, N.J., Katherine, Emily, Alexander and Sandra Olesin of Princeton, Mass., and Matthew, William and Christopher Sisto of Bernardsville, N.J.; and three nephews. His son, Kevin R. Lynch, died in 2002,
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 20, 2007, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 111 Claremont Road, Bernardsville, N.J. Burial will be private.
