Play Ball - By Ryan Hayner
Ryan Hayner joined the sports department at the Press Republican in late May 2009. Prior to that, he freelanced for the newspaper, primarily covering high school sports and the SUNY Plattsburgh men’s basketball team. He is currently finishing up his final year at the college. He was most recently the editor in chief of Cardinal Points, the student-run, award-winning newspaper for SUNY Plattsburgh. He was sports editor the year before that and held various other positions during his four year tenure. He has covered many sporting events and athletes up and down the state, from his time as sports editor with Cardinal Points, a summer internship with the Albany Times Union in 2008 and most recently with the Press-Republican.
